As TV Bod...what do you think of the Benefits street documentry...have the producers edited out the good stuff out to make it good viewing/contoversial!?
I've not seen it. No interest. I personally dislike that kind of tv. Was asked to pursue 'characters' like this for channel 4 last year and hated it. Just made me feel dirty. I don't really know what programmes like that are trying to say about the UK. In all honesty it really worries me that this is the kind of stuff they want to make. It's cheap, exploitative, headline-grabbing tosh.
A lot of my mates were discussing it at the party I was at the other week though so clearly it's a hot topic. I just think we need to stop demonising the poor for the sake of ratings. Development teams need to use their noggins and come up with something betterDebt free 6th December 2014

Charlie Brooker made a very good point about it when he said that if they wanted 'benefits street' to be all about community spirit etc then why call it 'benefits street'? The answer is ratings. They want it to be as controversial as possible so people watch it. It's reckless in my opinionDebt free 6th December 2014

The man that was trying to use it had given her his phone hthUsually you have to show people the code on the phone there and then.
I was going to offer to retrieve the code if bubbs could use it. I am on O2 and won't need that offer myself.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
