I will be playing freezer tetris tomorrow, I think. The next step is to remove the Jus-Rol pastry from the boxes (keeping the codes of course); after that, not sure!
I've already claimed the available space in my Mum's freezer.
I'm actually considering getting an under-counter-type freezer (probably s/h off fleabay), but that just might encourage me to fill it unnecessarily (if there is such a thing). At least with limited space, it concentrates the mind on the bargains and glitches I really need.
Done... still no space leftGo to the oxfam gifts unwrapped website - lots under a tenner. Or if any of them live near a zoo or animal sanctuary get them an adopt an animal pack or WWF (choose any one off ammount and print off a certificate) or YHA membership - very cheap for the under 26s - all charity gifts so if they complain they will look very miserable.
Tell your kith and kin no one liked your gift choices so now you are only giving charity gifts as charities appreciate your money.
I would love to see their faces if you did this! x100 -

That would probably upset the apple cart but I like the idea of those giftswe adopted a donkey before

I can ask him about his teachers
He's 10. He's a very immature 10. It's knowing what I can say to him without him going back and telling his mum. I know I can't be horrible about her but away from him, I want to cave her head in
Tricky with him being so young and can understand how you feel. Does your brother recognise whats going on?0 -
The only benefit of giving money is I have started already by doing one a week..as I have already got my cards I thought it would be an idea to write a list of whom I am giving and every week put money in the card put it in the box and cross them off the listOne cannot change the past, but one can ruin the present by worrying over the future.0

So sorry to hear about your nephew QoC....and after such a lovely family night out last night too.
Just be there for him and listen and if necessary be his voice. Make sure he is well supported and keep the lines of communication open.

He's staying with my brother this weekend. He's broke one of my brothers girlfriends sons toys, but he'd only tell me which one.
His mum is horrible. She only had kids for the benefits. She does nothing but yell at him constantly. I'm told that's all she did at Christmas too. For some reason she's got a bee in her bonnet about me and won't key me see him. So he was obviously scared to tell his dad about this toy because he's frightened he'll get yelled at. There has been fibbing going on.
Social services have been involved but about a different matter. As much as I don't want to, I think I'm going to have to get them involved again, but I need solid proof to go to them with and I can't get to see him unless it's through my brother.
I want him to have a better life than this, it's the least he deserves, but I can't do anything and I don't know what to do.
I'm going to go and see him in the morning, but a couple of hours isn't even going to scratch the surface.
What do I do?
Im sorry i have no advice to give ,it sounds an awful situation so thankfully he has you talk to xOne cannot change the past, but one can ruin the present by worrying over the future.0 -
I think through school might be the way to go - he is probably already on the schools list of children at risk if SS have been involved before.
I'd not thought of that, I'll keep it in mind, thank youThrifty_Sister wrote: »Tricky with him being so young and can understand how you feel. Does your brother recognise whats going on?
Yes but he feels as useless as me because he only has him about once a month,so any good that he can do during his weekend is completely undone by the time his next weekend comes aroundTrulyMadly wrote: »So sorry to hear about your nephew QoC....and after such a lovely family night out last night too.
