Things a bit fraught in our house. My parents aren't getting on so well of late and my Mum has been talking to me about wanting to leave. She hasn't raised this with my Dad yet but he has a temper.
I said to her I'd back her but obviously she needs to find a job (she had a part time one that she was made redundant from a couple of years ago) and sort out material stuff with my Dad. Me and my sister still live at home as we don't have the funds to do much else. I said she shouldn't worry about us and think about herself for a change but I am worried about where I might live if this all comes to a head.
This has been going on for the last week or so. Don't really know what to do.
Sorry to hear that Emmap, it's never nice when your parents aren't getting on!:(

My Mum gets a small pension from her old work now and my sister and I chip in as we're both working.
They've had their ups and downs over the years but my Dad's temper has gotten worse the older he gets. He flies off the handle at nothing. I've always thought he should go to anger management classes but he'd probably laugh in my face if I suggested it. He can be very cruel and mean at times. The fact is that even though she hasn't worked in a couple of years my Mum does so much. She takes care of the whole house, cooks, cleans....she works hard. I don't think my Dad appreciates what she does do and can be very dismissive of her.
I think she's just had enough of my Dad treating her badly and to be honest I don't really blame her. But I have said, if she feels stuck then she needs to but herself in a position where it's possible for her to leave.
I'd love to be able to move out with my sister. Buying wouldn't be possible for either of us and given the nature of my job and the low pay of hers......I've no idea how we'd afford rent. So.....
.....I need to find myself a husband. Tom?

(It didn't compare to T's as their offer is a 2 for 1 and items are not all the same price). 0 -
