I notice there was some (interesting(?) - doubtless interesting!:D To me:() posting about how text is read, and I'll go and read that now! Wondering, though, if everyone's brain scans text the same way. Anyone have any evidence on that?
I don't have any information to hand as to whether everyone's brain 'reads' the same, but leave it with me....

A bit more background information on how the brain reads words, for those that are interested. (It's not homework, or compulsory or anything!:))

This BBC article summarises recent research at the University of London, which may explain differences in people's reading abilities and offer some insights into dyslexia:

Research, funded by the Wellcome Trust, which may have clinical applications in relation to developmental dyslexia and those with acquired reading disabilities through injury or disease:

And here's how words take shape in the brain

What we actually say when we talk about meaning is - 'Do you see what I mean?'

'Incognito: The Secret Lives of the Brain' by David Eagleman is a good general introduction to how the mind works.

    Evening everyone :D

So another rejected receipt from Quidco - another rejected clicksnap receipt today, every time they seem to need 8 photos, 4 initial ones - marked items, method of payment, date, full receipt, 1st ones always rejected so I have to send them again

I think I've had a minor disappointing day, forms came that I was expecting and avoiding, signed anyway, dropped off and appointments made for next week.

Checked my Amazon and someone has left bad feedback, totally unfair so I have a yellow warning triangle now - special measures. I only sell a book a month and probably not even that now.

Ronnie the cat had me up at 4.30, scratching on bedroom doors so I am seriously flagging already

OH not on call but has still had to go in tonight to sort a problem out

    Eastenders time.

I think I would be the same, can we have a photo of your wood pile?

I like wood piles just in the porch outside the front door but any wood pile is a work of art. All I've got is a stick bucket which OH sometimes humours me by using :)
