Adobe Reader won't open documents!!!!!

    If you open documents from within the correct program (i.e. open a .doc file from within Word, if you have it installed ) rather than just double clicking on the filename, then it should always open correctly.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    ^ how would open the file from within Word? Would I right click and save it in Word, then go into Word and open it? If that's the case then isn't it easier just clicking on it & LibreOffice opening it? Sorry, aas you can tell I'm not really up on technology :/

    I think you keep mixing up things. Documents are usually saved on your hard disk, not in a program. Then there are two ways to open this document. Either you double click the document, which should normally open it with the right program, or you open the program first and then open the document from File -> Open ...

    Most programs also have a list of recently used documents, which makes it easier or quicker to open them. But they are still saved in a folder on your hard disk.
