smart parking ticket

Hey,
I've noticed a few of these forum's already about smart parking but they all seem to be about Asda.
I'm in Scotland and I got issued a ticket today because I parked in a space that did not have a white line in it (nor a yellow). It was at the Forth Valley Hospital.
The smartparking website says that it's the NHS who have employed smart parking to do the job, is that going to be private land like ASDA?
I'd appreciate some clarification about this ticket and if it is any different to the ASDA ones.
Like the rest it says, 'A charge of £70 is now due for payment. If paid within 14 days this will be discounted to £40.'
On the back at the top it says, 'Issued by Smart Parking Ltd. Also trading as Town and City Parking. Registered in Scotland No. SC138255.'
thank you for your help on this

try reading the sticky thread near the top of the forum called NEWBIES - READ THIS FIRST
tells you everything you need to know about private parking and their companies0 -
This is private land, yes, so you do need to read the sticky threads such as the 'Newbies read this first!' one, just like anyone else with a private parking ticket is advised to. You can scroll past the appeals section in that sticky thread though and look at the advice re Scotland - which is covered there - and that's why it's different (because it's Scotland, easy!). Also Hospitals are covered in the 'Successful complaints' sticky thread; complain to the facilities Manager like everyone else on that thread who reported a successful complaint about any PPC at a Hospital site. 'Sticky threads' are the advice threads to read first, at the top of the thread list permanently.
Or you could search this parking sub-forum for 'Scotland' (not the entire MSE forums) and you'd soon see the big difference.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0
