Eurostar no seat available - partial refund possibility??

Hello,

I got a eurostar on new years eve, paid the top rate (£154) as I booked it last minute, not a problem as I knew it would be like that.

After booking - I was informed that the train I had booked was full and therefore I could not reserve a seat, I was instructed to find a supervisor once at kings cross who would inform me what to do.

The solution was that although I got on the train, I had to sit in one of the fold down seats between the carriage - eventually I found a seat that was not claimed by anyone.

As I say, didn't really matter - but would I be entitled to some sort of refund as I didn't exactly get what I paid for???

Thanks in advance

What exactly did you pay for then?
Even if you had to go find the seat yourself, you still got it
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

you got a seat though - the fold-down seats count, don't they?

You paid to get from A to B, which is exactly what you got. Would it have been better for you if they had refused your booking because a seat was not bookable for the entire journey?

Going to use Eurostar coming back from Paris middle of June.

Is it necessary to book 5 seats now??
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.

It depends on the day of the week and time of day.

(As for the OP, £154 is not top rate. £276 for business premier is top rate for a one way ticket.)
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?
