                    Hi all I hope I'm posting in the right place.
I have been off work for almost 8 weeks now and my sick note runs out next week. I would like to go back 3 days a week and from what I have read if I go back tues,weds and Thursday on normal pay I can claim ssp for Monday and Friday. Does anyone know if this is correct and what would be the best way of getting it implemented?

It's not just a case of wanting to go back three days a week, it's whether your employer will allow it.
Often you will have to use holidays for the other two days to get paid for them.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

            What has your GP advised? It is possible to do this, but your employer would expect a fit note recommending a phased return. Also be aware that, if your employer does not agree, they could count each Monday and Friday as separate periods of absence, which is likely to result in disciplinary action.0

            Yes my employer will allow it. This is the 3rd time i have been off long term sick and have always had a phased return to work. I usually do use my holiday for the remaining days but I was told I could claim SSP for them.0

            My GP will only sign me back on a part time basis for at least another month. If I have to use my remaining holiday then I will but if there is another option then I would prefer to keep some holiday for the rest of the year.0

As long as you have a fit note then you can receive SSP for your absent days. Two things to note - you will exhaust your entitlement after 28 linked weeks, and because your absences are close together you will not be subject to the usual waiting days.0 -

I read it as a phased return, that her GP would recommend it for at least another month, there is an intention to go back full time. If there is no intention to return full time then I would agree SSP would not be payable.0
