You don't need to answer if you don't want to give too much away, but are these expert witnesses? Won't the reports and statements have been originally created electronically? If so, don't print, scan and email. Find the original electronic version and email that. The filesizes will be tiny in comparison. The scans I will be sending are of reports, statements etc rather than of documents that I have prepared myself (which I'd just send as a word doc), and I do need an element of security so I think the dropbox/cloud option might be the one for me.

Thanks.
I have just done the speed test and it is 0.95Mbps download and 0.37 upload. I don't know a lot, but do know that that is rubbish...but we are at the very far end of the exchange and in reality nobody cares, as it's rural Cumbria after all.
Might it be the case that there is some kind of time out happening when I'm trying to send attachments?
Cookie365, I don't generally have a problem with the expert witnesses reports as, like you say, these tend to come in electronic form anyway - it tends to be the volumous documentation to be sent either by way of instruction or to clients directly, which is more often than not handwritten at source or for which the electronic version if it existed is not made available to me (I hope that makes sense)
I think I will have a good play with the settings on the scanner when it arrives as, as has been suggested, it might be possible to do more than I think given that it is a workgroup scanner rather than a home one.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I just need it to hurry up and arrive now (stamps feet impatiently!!)0 -
Just seen that you've got the Scansnap coming. Hopefully, by now, you'll see that you can set the final document format and size. I'd go for B&W PDFs that are not searchable. Keep doing down in size until you get the smallest size vs legibility for you.
I find about 10 sheets is the best number to put through in a batch - you can also set the machine to keep adding to a document until you have added all the sheets you need. So each batch of 10 need not be in different documents.0
