I have two share certificates for Britannic Assurance shares, actual shares in the company itself and not a policy. I now wish to sell these shares but cannot find who now owns this company!
help please as I have tried everything that I can think of!!
Thanks
Darren

I'm fairly sure they became part of Phoenix Life.

No idea what payments were made to shareholders though.

    Resolution, not Phoenix.

ahh - see here. It seems that the current Resolution isnt the one that took over Britannic. The old Resolution was taken over by Pearl which is now called Phoenix!!! So Opinions4u was right.

Perhaps this complex series of takeovers would mean that the Phoenix people know nothing about Britannic.

According to the reference Pearl paid cash for the (old) Resolution so perhaps you already have received the money and the certificates are only of historical interest. Suggest you talk "Resolution" to the Phoenix people.

Are you talking to the corporate Investor Relations people - see here? The customer facing help desk probably wouldnt know anything.

PS: Even better the registrars "Computer Share" on 0870 707 4040

Computer share couldn't find anything but want me to send in photo copies of my certs. As for Phoenix I have emailed on their investor relations page rather than speak to them again.
