Majorca holiday advice please. Cala Millor

Looking for some friendly advice please.
We have been to Hotel Cleopatra, Playa de las Americas, Tenerife for the last 3 years and everything has been perfect. We just fancy trying somewhere different.
Someone at the office has suggested Cala Millor and I wonder if anyone has been there.
The thing we enjoy most about Playa de las Americas, is that when we come out of the hotel to look for somewhere to eat, we can go in any dircection and are spoilt for choice. This is something we would like to replicate in another holiday location.
Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated. We are looking to go sometime in June.

Hi, I have been to Cala Millor and from what i can remember its a lovely beach and nice area. Personally I much prefer Majorca to Tenerife, the sea is warmer and its a beautiful island. There are so many fantastic beaches, we usually stay in the Hotel Santia Lucia in Palma Nova which is nice, not luxurious but has a fabulous location. Cala Bona which is nearby is a nice beach and if you hire a car there are many lovely places to go - Caves del drac, Palma which is wonderful so much to see and well worth going to the aquarium, Alcudia has lovely beaches., Marineland is great for the kids and you can visit the nearby Porto Nous and see how the other half lives. We just love it there.2008£3002009£13002010£15002011£41952012£21942013£1494

Cala Millor is quite different from Playa de las Americas. Where Las Americas is the biggest resort in Tenerife, Cala Millor is one of Majorca's smaller resorts.
Both offer different things Las Americas is quite lively and has lots of bars and restaurants whereas Cala Millor has better beaches but has less bars and restaurants.I am a Travel Agent

Where can you suggest that is comparable to Playa de las Americas. We just like to wander around at night and choosing different restaurants and look at the shops.0 -
Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote is similar, as is Puerto Rico Gran Canaria. Both have plenty of bars, restuarants and shops and nice beaches too.
Outside of the canaries I would say Majorca is a good choice but take a look at Santa Ponsa, Palma Nova, Puerto Pollensa or Alcudia as they're the bigger resorts and have plenty going on. Palma Nova can be busy in July and August but June shouldn't be too bad.
Playa d'en Bossa and Santa Eulalia in Ibiza are also good for bars and restaurants, as is Benalmadena, Torremelinos, La Pineda, Benidorm, Tossa de Mar or Salou in Spain. Spain does tend to be a bit more high rise hotels than the Canaries so it depends whether or not that would be an issue for you as some people don't like it and prefer the lower rise buildings.
The Greek Islands also have plenty of livelier resorts that are great for restaurants and bars. Try looking at Argassi or Kalamaki in Zante, Kos Town or Tingaki in Kos, Sidari in Corfu, Lindos or Ixia in Rhodes or Hersonnisos or Aghios Nikolaos in Crete.I am a Travel Agent

Look at Playa blanca Lanzarote or Pefkos Rhodes. Although neither of them are as Loud as Tenerife0

I am a frequent holidaymaker to Mallorca, although I've never stayed in Cala Millor I've visited it many times. It is a small resort IMO. Alcudia/Pt Alcudia is lovely, has a fabulous beach and lots of restaurants. Santa Ponsa is nice too although smaller. Haven't stayed in Palma Nova but have spent time there and find it very English with lots of groups of youngsters, probably because it isn't far from Magaluf!0

We have had 2 holidays in Puerto Pollensa in Majorca and we love it there. Plenty of choice of really good restaurants0
