yay two AFDs in a row! getting there.

I'm still in an utterly awful mess and it's slow going getting things ordered in/people to turn up to get it sorted and me feel like I'm getting somewhere towards a comfy home.

It is fleas, I found one on me. So that's added a huge job on top of the pile :(

    4/10 AFD please shaggy :)

    8/27 AFDs for me.

Lots of interesting reactions to hiding the amount we drink. I know I'm a binge drinker when I do drink, and don't seem able to "just have one" except if I'm out.

Piggles, eeww to fleas. I could cope with the boxes, but not with the fleas. I hope you've got the place fumigated by now! Is the place rented... if so the landlord should pay for the fumigation, and charge the outgoing tenant. It could be worth ringing your Environmental Health department at the local council to get advice about the position with the landlord.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Loving people's honesty here, makes me feel better and encourages me to be honest with myself and with you lot.

1 AF for tonight please.....I've been tempted but because I know my mum is coming round for dinner tomorrow night and she said she would bring a bottle with her, I didn't want to drink tonight.

Had dinner early to avoid temptation. Cuppa Tea now.....lol.

I'm counting that as 7 ALDs - as an AFD is also an ALD iyswim.

so 5/22 AFD and 7/TF ALD

    becoming with your next post

    6/22 AFD and 8/TF ALD

That makes sense. No more to add today as it's my birthday so I've had one or two today.

6/12 please Shaggy. Unexpected offer of free tickets a friend couldn't use tonight so we were straight out after tea to the theatre! Cup of tea on returning home :)

So disappointed as I allowed myself to very quickly give in to the temptation to join OH in a glass of wine with a pre theatre lunch yesterday - and then continued the "failure" with another couple when we got home:o :(
So it will be 9/31 for me today as I won't be drinking tonight, but won't make my target for the month.

Well done on the 7 AF Days, StuPotStu. You made a comment in an earlier post.

I can remember knowing we had a massive stack of red wine (my tipple of slosh-it-back choice) in the house when I stopped but I don't remember finding it 'dangerously tempting' because I'd totally understood that the idea of booze being attractive was part of my problem. I had to do a lot of reading around the subject of stopping drinking by people I could identify with (ie, in my case, women of a certain age) before I could see that I'd be scre*ed if I didn't change the way I thought about booze - so I did. We are capable of changing our thinking much more easily than changing the way we feel. Just a thought.

I love red wine too & can also slosh that back with gusto Honey Bear. I am starting to try and look beyond the immediate attractiveness of alcohol (created in my own head using my previously quoted flowery prose) and identify the "where", "why" , "hows".

What I have discovered is that my almost redundant "No" switch is more easily triggered by champagne & prosecco which just leads on and on and significantly worsened when wine gets thrown into the mix.
I presently am finding it easy to say no to wine and spirits, beers too but my resolve can drop in a second if not guarded at all times.

Somehow, I have made it to 9 AF completed.

This morning Mr SPS and I are flying out to a European Capital to meet up with some friends for three days.
Quite how I will manage I don't know. I do know when I went away last month I managed to regulate my drinking, but came home on a slow brake back into sobriety & once I was back on my home turf I was as irresponsible and regularly drinking as before. Couldn't get the forum up on my mobile either whilst away.

Have a great weekend everyone. :-)
