:T I told you so!!:D Smashed your target and 3 smileys!! That's a great score.

Sorry you've been having a hard time but you keep coming back to the AFDs so you're well on the way to sorting yourself out. Do you plan the days you intend to have a drink or are they just 's*d it' days. I find if I've planned them (i.e. given myself permission) then I don't feel guilty.

you did indeed say I'd smash my target :D but I was feeling miserable and not sure if I'd make it.

I don't plan the days I drink and the feeling creeps up on me, then I check the calendar to see how many AFDs I've had and if it's enough I think yeh I'm allowed, and get the wine out. Makes no difference if I'm happy or miserable but the next day I wonder why I bothered.

Started as I mean to go on this week and had two AFDs but I did put a beer in the fridge. I've got an appointment tomorrow so typically I'm trying to sabotage it when it's important.

2/17 AFD please shaggy. Thanks for all my smileys last month :)

Not an AFD today, because of celebratory drinks for getting the job I interviewed for today. I start Tuesday.

    Wow Chocaccino looks amazing.

    It is!

Definitely scenic railway tour. Been looking at this site http://greatscenicrailways.co.uk/

Fabulous! I haven't done all of them but the map of the Exeter Paignton bit is a bit misleading. The line goes right down the Exe estuary and then along the (Jurassic) coast - the bit that got washed away a couple of years ago in the storms. When we have people visiting who arrive on the train I advise them to sit on the left hand side of the train if they're coming from the Exeter direction because it's quite a sight. The Plymouth to Gunnislake line's pretty fab, too.

We've done some great scenic railway tours. LA to San Diego is a great one - it follows the beach. Also South of France all the way round the coast to Italy as far as Viareggio - this also follows the coast and takes a week or two. A big favorite of mine is Paris to Barcelona.

I have to say I think long railway journeys are fabulous. I've done a few in my time and regret the ones I haven't done that have gone, like the Canadian Pacific. It's possible to do bits of it but going the whole way was what I meant to do and never got round to it. A great way to see any country.

I'm still here! House was flooded by the river on Monday evening and its been hellish since, but throughout it all I've not had a single drink. Not one alcoholic sip. But boy, do I want one :rotfl:

It's going to be a tough 12 months but I am in fighting mode - bring it on! Rrrraaaahhhh (fierce tigress noise )

So reporting 4/19 alcohol FREE days please Shaggy x

3/20 AFDs today. Didn't sleep very well last night, and neither did DH, so we were chatting at 5am this morning. Of course I didn't want to wake up when it was time to get up. At least the sun was shining this morning.

Dizzy, so sorry to hear you've been flooded. Well done on staying strong, I doubt if I'd have had that amount of willpower!

The weather forecast is for a breezy day tomorrow.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • Sorry I have been awol.
I managed 27/30 for November. For December...target of 21/31 please.
    4/31 so far.
