It's really good news that you're noticing a difference and feeling better after 10 days, Roland. Are you going to let yourself use the money saved for something you've had to do without? (I set myself a target number of days and then had a lovely time spending some of the money saved on things I would never have allowed myself otherwise - evening classes, lovely new pots for plants on the sundeck and so on.) Interesting about your back, that's a new one. How's the sleep thing going?
It's not earmarking it for anything specific, but it's in a different account, so still set aside.
Possibly go towards some work to the garden, or perhaps the holiday in the summer.
I'm thinking the back may simply have been when I was sleeping, it was a deep sleep and it may have been the way I was lying.
On the sleeping front, I'm not seeing every hour on the clock now, so that's a bonus. Apparently I don't snore anymore either, so everyone's happy.0 -
Morning lovelies
Happy to report I'm on 13\31. Last night was a struggle though. I really fancied a glass of wine. A packet of almonds didn't stop it either. I'm sure nuts contain far more calories than wine, by weight, so I'm not helping my fat tum situation.

Not sure if this link will work but I read this in my paper this morning. Any one of us could have written it (especially HB
) and probably be paid a fortune for the privilege!

Welcome Lovesale and FakePlasticTwee. Lovely to have you with us and if there is one suggestion I would make that I found made all the difference - keep posting! I've found it really helps, knowing there are other people who are doing the same thing - determined not to neck a swift one just tonight. I'll deal with tomorrow when it comes. I can still remember knowing I had to stop drinking but the dread of never being allowed one again kept me slurping away for years. Turns out, at least in my case, it's absolutely fine living without booze, but I'd never realised I could do it until I tried it and everyone on this thread made a huge contribution to me staying off it.
Thank you! I think you're right, it's a lot easier when you know other people are feeling the same. I have to say though, I'm feeling quite strong at the moment. The moments of grumpiness come and then pass by again. I KNOW I won't cave during January. That doesn't mean I have to like it though :rotfl:
I read a quote somewhere a few months ago that I have applied to exercise, and it has worked, so I'm going to apply it here too. "Get comfortable with being uncomfortable."0 -

Wow ,, thank you all so much for the lovely kind words of support,,,,
In answer to all your questions,,, yes I am a very healthy lady , slim , always been size 10 since collage, fit , well turned out ,,, not a slob , who has lost their self respect ,,,,,,,,yet!
I don't crave drink during the day ,, and TBH I don't really feel that dreadful the next day after drinking ,,, but who am I kidding ?
I was the most serious smoker and I think that the fact that I gave up and will never smoke again , keeps me thinking one day I will do that with booze ! Well it's wine really , I don't drink much other drinks as I don't like them ,,,, unlike my mum who was a real drinker ( hereditary ??) she drank any drink at any time ,, and I think this was has kept me every now and then to stop or do AF during week day !!
I will in time do the old target AF days ,,, at the moment I'm happy writing my feelings down ,, I hope I don't bore you all too much !
:rotfl::money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:0 -

13/30 please Shaggy.
I think that's me proved to myself that my drinking was more habitual than anything else, which is a good thing.
I also think that if I was to have a drink, I'd have one again the next night too and then I'd be back in the old routine.
So for that reason, I'm more determined than ever not to take any chances.0
