Inaccurate information on a credit file?

I have a defaulted account on my credit file which I have always attempted to dispute but failed - Other than this default my report is absolutley perfect.
I have noticed today that the defaulted account has my name spelt incorrectly - i.e. They have added a letter to my first name which doesn't exist.
Is there anything out there to say that due to this error (inaccurate or incorrect information), it should be removed from my report? I'm looking for a regulation or something which I can use to have it taken off..
I might be on to nothing, but thought I'd ask..
Appreciate any advice..

They would just correct the name, not remove the default.Still rolling rolling rolling......

What is the default for?
Is it yours?
Have you made a written complaint to the company posting it to dispute it?:beer:0 -
If the default is a true representation of past lending then no as rizla said they will just change the name. If the default is not yours or was wrongly issued then you have a case but on name alone this will not result in removal unfortunately.
Hope this helps0
