Down 31% today. Is this a buying opportunity?

Only if you think they are going to recover from this poor spell. Could be a terminal decline!0

I know several new parents and none of them have bought at Mothercare - all preferring supermarkets for basics and specialist baby shops for other goods.Old dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0

Probably further to fall yet and they don't pay a dividend. There are better options like Tesco or Sainsbury with a 4.5% yield0

Or a selling opportunity.
Will they go the same way as Woolworths, Jessops and Blockbuster?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
I remember the end of last year they had a poor year and things weren't looking good, this year looks no different.
We no longer shop in Mothercare as their prices are too high.

I had a quick look at the charts and I'd say further significant falls are likely. It is something I'd consider but not at the current price.0

I wouldn't even go there, this company seems in terminal decline not necessarily of its own doing. The problems here seem to be accelerated by the internet.
As with regards to being cheap let me tell you I've made that mistake before, buying in only to find that 2 years later they go pop along with my money.0 -
I still think there is demand for nice baby stuff from a regular shop, so I expect the Mothercare brand to continue but that doesn't necessarily mean share holders are protected from losing everything. But I've made some of my biggest gains from distressed stocks so I'll continue to look with interest.0
