T & Cs say they are valid from 23 June 2010, so they probably haven't changed (although brendon in post #5 above seems to suggest points did not expire the previous year).0

I have lost about £18 of East Coast Mainline loyalty points.... Done every year
East Coast emailed to say some points expired and gave reasonable notice so changing then into a voucher or some other gift was easy. That isn't hard to do and is what a decent company would do so I trust RSH will lose business if they take points away in sneaky fashion.0 -
Indeed the term was in the T&C's all along. Having checked my emails for last year, I see an email December 2012 which says "We are extending the life of your loyalty points by 6 months until the end of May 2013." I guess they weren't in the Christmas sprit this year.0

I too have lost points at the end of 2013 and got pretty much the same response from RSH on Twitter. Two points though:
1. The wording of the T&Cs is quite specific: "points will be valid for one calendar year from 1st January - 31st December." Note they say valid for one year not during the year they were purchased or until the end of the year but for one calendar year. One calendar year should last 365 or 366 days!
2. RSH say they can't reinstate points in their email response above but they have refunded me a number of points because their fulfilment partner failed to deliver my rewards. I think they do have "the facilities to accommodate this request".0 -
