Cairo to Aswan "Long" Nile Cruise

Hello - we are booked to go on a cruise ship from Cairo to Aswan in April - this is the Nile "Long" Cruise that has only been available for the last year or so, after it being deemed for several decades that middle Egypt was not safe for tourists.
As far as I can see, this would have us passing through areas the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office classifies as "advise against all but essential travel" and so I would expect the cruise to not go ahead. Our travel company however appears to be saying that only if the status changes to "advise against all travel" would the cruise not happen and we would get a refund. This seems very unusual and frankly unwise to me. Apart from anything else, I don't think our travel insurance would be valid.
We are due to pay the balance of the trip in around a week - and I am reluctant to do so as I really don't think the trip will go ahead - and if it does, I don't think we want to be on it. However, not paying the balance would mean we lose our deposit.
Does anyone have any information regarding whether the "long" cruises are going ahead this year?
Thanks
Alan

Speak to your insurance company and ask them if your are covered for travel there given the FCO current adviceChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0
