ParkingEye PCN in retail car park

Hi guys,
Happy New Year to all of you!
I know this tends to be a cliche, but I thought I should ask for your advice.
Last weekend I received this PCN from ParkingEye for £100, or £60 if paid in 14 days. They fined me for staying nearly 2 hrs at Roaring Meg retail park in Stevenage, when according to the signs, maximum parking time is 3 hrs. First thing I did was to google the PPC and the first result was this forum which I obviously checked out.
I got back to the car park the same day I received the PCN and I noticed that there is a term on the signs that states that whenever the local football team is playing at home the allowed parking time is reduced to an hour and a half! Below that term, however, with big bold letters it says 3 hour stay is permitted. That's at least confusing if you ask me!
I got a picture of the sign and then went straight to the retail manager to complaint. He said that he'd contact the PPC and sort this out.
Earlier today I've sent an appeal to the PPC, writing in third person and saying that the driver and passengers were genuine customers and that they've already complained to the retail manager. I've also attached the bank statement, as proof. As soon as I pressed "send" a message appeared saying that it could take up to 14 days for them to get back to me. They're very busy I guess!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

its not a fine as its a parking charge (fines come from courts and judges)
all the retail park are doing is stopping football supporters jamming up their private car park there
anyway, as you have done the correct things, sit back and wait
meanwhile, read the NEWBIES thread near the top of this forum, has everything you need in there0 -
Thanks for replying Redx!
I've already read the Newbies thread, although I intend to read it again more thoroughly. It's very helpful indeed!
Cheers!0 -
What about the 'Successful Complaints about PPCs' sticky. I am sure I put a Roaring Meg success link on there - I encourage you to rattle some cages of managers!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Hello there!
I did read this thread the day I received the PCN.
Anyway, I went back to the retail store today. There was a kind lady at customer service, very keen to help. She sent an email to the PPC and she assured me that it will be canceled. The PPC will send me a cancel confirmation, she said.
Should I consider this a closed case?0 -

it can be considered "closed" when you receive the letter from the PPC saying its closed, until then its not closed0 -
As Coupon Mad has said, Roaring Meg is a site where complaints have worked. I remember posting in one thread about it, as I am familiar with the site, saying that a non football following person could argue with a retailer that they would not know when a game was on, and challenge them to tell you every date if you "discuss" the matter in store. I know the ground is just up the road, but unless there is a sign in the car park saying it was a match day, it could be overlooked. I take it they do not put signs up stating match days? Last I recall, they were only listed on the RM website. Who looks at a retail park website before visiting?0
