Lost track of shares - are they still mine?

I'm hoping someone can help me here. In approx 2000 I exchanged my employee bonus for some shares in the company i worked at called Infonet. Since then I have got married and therefore my name changed and also have moved house twice. While I thought i was fairly thorough about changing all my details on all the various accounts/policies etc I forgot about these. I also cannot find my paperwork
I know that since that time Infonet have been bought out by BT.
I have tried a search on the Unclaimed Assets Register which BT are a member of but that has failed.
I've tried to find some contact information for investor relations with regard to BT-Infonet shares but again as yet have been unsuccesful.
I don't even know I've effectively lost any value that they would have held because of all this but I'd really like to find out one way or another.
Is anyone able to shed any light on any of this at all please?
