1st utility problems

Recently changed from first utility to Swalec using Martins site and all appeared to be ok. Have now found out meter readings and dates of changing do not match and first utility have overcharged me beyond the switch date and they won't respond to me emails. Do they do this to everyone in the hope we don't notice?
