are keys left with Estate Agents at same time

Ea already has the keys from doing the viewings ... in my experience.
They may have one set of keys, but, unless the house has been empty and you don't intend to go back, surely you (and others) will have been using other sets of keys! They all need handing in to the EA.

Not necessarily, as long as the agents have a set, just post your last front door key back through the letter box when you lock up for the last time, and leave the rest of them somewhere sensible in the house.IANAL etc.0 -
We met our buyer at the house to hand over the keys. We also used it as a final opportunity to run through all those last bits and bobs, such as where the various stoptaps were on the plumbing, where we'd put manuals and warranties for the oven, woodburner and so on, where the stopcock was and all that sort of jazz.
However, it was an easy meeting for us, as we'd been in contact the whole way through the process.
We picked the keys for the house we purchased up from the EA, as vendors had inherited it and lived 150 miles away.0 -

That's exactly what I did. Make sure the EA has a key for the new buyers to let themselves in. You can give them that at any time leading up to completion. All the rest, I left in the kitchen, marked with details of which door they opened.0 -
EA had one set of keys to the front door when we completed. The rest were left in a drawer in the kitchen.0

Mine had them anyway, ie so that they could do viewings.
They were given VERY strict instructions though not to hand them to my buyer until my solicitor told them Completion had happened.
I had so many keys to the house that I left all the "spares" in the house (apart from one set for front and back door that I kept until it was all over and then disposed of).0 -
Spares are irrelevant.
Any buyer with half a brain will change the locks anyway and then get extra keys cut as required.
Any buyer with less than half a brain won't miss the spares!0 -
