Restaurant closed, can I get a voucher refund?

My parents kindly gave me a rather large voucher for a local restaurant as a nice Christmas pressie! However when I went onto their site today I saw they have closed down. Worse than that, they only just updated the page 3 days ago (according to wayback machine) and prior to that there's no mention they were about to close.
They have one other branch who I've emailed about trying to get a refund. Do I have any consumer rights in this situation?
For the record, the restaurant is Oscars of Cardiff (http://www.oscarsofcardiff.com/) and here's the link to the home page as of Jan 4th: (http://web.archive.org/web/20131107225254/http://www.oscarsofcardiff.com/).
There's also no mention of closing down on their twitter until Jan 1st. https://twitter.com/OscarsofCardiff

The safest vouchers to give anyone in times of harsh economical times are bank of England gift vouchers, they have the Queens head on and can be spent elsewhere.
You are now a creditor, a very low profile one at that.Be happy...;)0 -

The company Town & Country Hotels Ltd is still trading, they've just shut down one of their sites.
You have no automatic right for a refund and so it simply comes down to the vouchers terms and conditions but always worth a word with them. Alternatively may also be worth a word with the head chef who is taking over the restaurant to see if he will do anything for a loyal fan whos been inconvenienced (obviously think a credit at the new restaurant rather than refund for this one)0 -

How did your parents pay for the voucher?0 -
After a couple of relatively friendly emails, the restaurant let me know they have a number of establishments dotted around S Wales. However once I said it was bought as a nice AND convenient gift they agreed to a refund or to use it in the new replacement restaurant.
So although I don't think I had much rights to get a refund, there are nice people out there who will give them regardless.0
