Child tax credits threshold

Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me CTC are saying that there is a £25,000 threshold now so there is no way I should have a overpayment unless we earn £25.000 over our estimated earnings for this year. I have rung three times and asked for this is writing but keep getting told that what I have been told is the truth but they have nothing in print. I said that I don't want to be in the position of having to pay them back again through them not listening to what's told to them. And all I get told is what I have been told is the truth if we do not go over our earnings by £25.000 we will have nothing to pay back. Please help as they have messed our payments up for two years, last year was the first time they got it right, and now they say this new rule has come in.
Many thanks Nicky
Thanks for any help and advice given

    Hiya

I have said this in a few threads - last tax years income is the basis of this years tax credits - as long as you do not exceed last years income by 25k you should have no overpayment

    Hello,

Although Tax Credits do not print on your award notice you have a £25,000 threshold, if you go onto http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/media/D/0/bud07_chaptera_235.pdf (Budget 2007) and go to page 9/32 in the table at the bottom it confirms in 'black & white' that you have an income disregard of £25,000 for this tax year. Hope this helps.

    Regards,
