No address can I file N1 papers via email

Does anyone know if I am unable to get an address for a defendant, can I serve an N1 claim form via email?

If so, any advice on what form and associated charges?

Your are required to state the defendant's name(s), address(es) and post code(s) on the claim form N1.

You then send it to the court with the appropriate fee, and the court will serve it. (usually by royal mail)

Thanks. I am aware of this. But I dont have their address. But I have an active email address that they have liaised with me within the last 30 days. Is there no way of serving court papers via email? Can I not apply to the court for this?

No, court papers cannot be served electronically

Can't you look up their address online? For a small fee, sites like 192 can give you most people's addresses.

Why not email them and ask them their address?

Probably won't help but you can serve documents (additional particulars) by email before filing them with the court using N251.

Not a chance without a physical address to accept service - either use a skip tracer or someone versed in getting the info, usually £25-£30 does it - you might wants to try 192.Com yourself first!
