OMG!! I've just "heard" Avast v9.x giving it's notification of updating the definitions - cue "posh english bird" accent instead of "annoying amercan bint"

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Get enough GBH of the ear'ole at home without Avast's contribution whatever the accent, but at least with Avast you can switch her off.

Before I saw her picture on Avast's FB page I had her pegged as a grumpy middle aged woman :rotfl:

I suspect you can change her back to the US accent by going to Settings > Appearance and changing the language from 'English UK' to 'English'You can lose a loose goose.
