Help - Buddleia is on the floor!!!
Just looked out of my window and my prize eight-foot Buddleia has flopped on to the floor due to all this wind and rain. It has a really thick base so I thought it would withstand this weather. Will it recover if I stamp it back into an upright position? I don't really want to cut it back as it gives us some privacy?

Stand it up, put in a stake and tie for support and I think you will be OK. Tough old things buddleia.0

You could try cutting it back by a third, then staking the rest. THe pruning will encourage fresh growth anyway, so will flourish. It will grow back!0

Budleia benefits from being pruned. It'll most likely grow well again, even if you cut it back to ground level.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0

Hi,
We had the same problem last year with our buddleia. Because it got so bashed we had to cut it right back ( actually down to 2 feet or less in places ) I am now looking outside at a 10 foot specimen that is in better nick than last years. Also have several smaller buddleia that have magically appeared at the bottom of the garden where we put the off cuts !! According to my neighbour buddleia can take over your garden if you give it a chance.
Good luck
