Gren Flag & Motorcycles
I looked at Green flag, as my AA renewal has just come.
I have access to 2 cars, and a couple of motorbikes that I do occasionally commute on but use for reasonable trips out in the Summer.
I need recovery for the 'bikes, as a puncture can really ruin your day, and it is the most likely reason that I would call them out, although I cannot see the future, and I suppose anything could break down on a car so I have to have car cover as well.
So it is personal cover I need.
If I get a quote inputting the car reg, it is £68.90, if I requote inputting a bike reg, it is £79.50, still miles cheaper than the AA personal membership.
I do more miles in the car, I don't ride in the Winter, so my main use vehicle actually is the car.
Which one should I go for?
The T&Cs that I find on the website talk about any vehicle you are in, (as opposed to riding/on). I don't want to save £10 finding that the car one doesn't actually cover a 'bike when I call them out, nor do I want to throw £10 away.
I suppose I can ring them on their 0845 number (which costs...)

I used AutoAid. they cover bikes as well as cars.
Ok you pay for the recovery and claim it back but as for fixing it - all any other firm will do with a puncture is take you to a tyre fitters and you'll have to pay for it anyway.
At £39 you can't really grumble. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

Wow 2.7 pence a day is money saving at its best.0 -
As I have to pay the £10 in one go, it is £10 I could spend on sweets this week, rather than one pairdrop a day.
Thanks fivetide for the headsup on Autoaid, just fired off an enquiry as The Other Car is a small 4x4, and 4x4 is missing from the list of vehicles they cover.......I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Strange. I went with them because I could cover the bike (they sent a man with a specific bike trailer when I needed them) and also they covered old cars as the commuter barge was 17 years old and no one else wanted to touch it.
Only thing I would say is of course they rely on local operators so in big cities, you might get a bigger operator who can accept a card as payment. Mine didn't and I had to stop at a cash machine to get money out. It was all paid back very quickly though. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
I was referring to Rodney_Trotters comment that the £10 difference between the Greenflag quotes is 2.7p a day over the year, but I pay the membership fee in one go.
Very tempted by Autoaid, just need them to agree that the suzuki is covered, I would think so as it is a tiny little thing, not a 3500kg Landrover.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

I find it hard to believe anyone who runs a bike other than as their only means of cheap transport is that tight over £10.0 -
I'm not that tight, I can easily pay it, but why pay £10 more than I need to for what could be the identical service? It's only another £40 on top of that for my AA renewal

All these £10s mount up too
At the moment, the only concrete thing is I'm not paying £130.
More than likely I will pay £39 for AutoAid if they cover The Other Car.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
