in Credit cards
Hi All,
I paid £50 off my card on the 30th December 13 in time and far more than the minimum requested. I always pay it in full and clear the card. This month though my DD was coming out a day before payday. I took it on me that since ive already paid Id cancel the DD (5/01/14) and clear the card on pay day.
Ive just logged into my account today and it shows a cleared DD of £143 that came out yesterday and the full amount of the card available to spend. Ive logged into my bank and no funds have been taken or are pending and there isnt enough money to even make the payment.
Could anyone offer an explanation for me as im rather confused.
Regards
Craig

When was the DD due? If it does today and you cancelled it yesterday, then chances are it'll be taken anyway - companies have minimum time periods for cancelling DDs, some upto 14 days. You need to ring them and request them not to take the DD if you want to cancel after the cut-off time (and then 24 hours notice is probably too short).
You may find the transaction on your statement tomorrow, along with an unauthorised overdraft fee.0 -
Hi, well after all of that, no DD was taken from my bank and after a few days my CC balance corrected itself. Good job I now check my bank and cards daily0
