Graduate loan protection

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if graduate loan protection is the same as PPI? I took out a graduate loan in 2006 with HSBC and was strongly advised to take out graduate loan protection, which I did. I'm now wondering if I was mis-sold and if I can make a claim. I have the contract paperwork but can't find the terms and conditions for the protection so I'm not sure if it's the same as PPI.

I was employed on a temporary contract at the time and I believe this would give me a claim under PPI; does anyone know if it's the same for graduate protection?
