Does anyone know if the Rocksmith 2014(PC version) can be played on my Dell Dimension 5150 with XP? or is it time to get a more up-to-date tower with win7 etc.
Thanks guys.

The short answer is yes. Your 32 bit pc can only handle 3gbyte of Ram.
Once you update to a newer 64-bit machine,
1. you are no longer limited to 3gb usable Ram any more. (I have 16gb in my recently acquired desktop)
2. almost all new software should be designed for 64-bit machines (and multiple cores) and should run more efficiently (and faster).
The giant that is XP is finally on its way out. Not because it was bad, but simply because of the limitations of a 32-bit system.0 -
Or maybe because MS want the bonanza of millions of new licences when they pull the plug on this perfectly viable OS. They won't get my money again though, I'll be switching to Ubuntu. The giant that is XP is finally on its way out. Not because it was bad, but simply because of the limitations of a 32-bit system.0 -
It's perfectly viable, but it's 12 years old and unable to support modern devices and software.
I'm no fan of M$, but technology has come a long way in the last decade and the cost of developing new software which is that far backward compatible is not feasible, neither is supporting the hardware.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Big thanks guys. I'm not computer savvy really. I've got the specs info but it's above my head when it comes to looking for an up-to-date system. I'm looking at a couple of refurb on ebay & hope this will be okay as a home computer/non internet games & surfing.
