Change of Address

Hiya,
I am new to this forum, this question might have been answered before if it has apologies in advance.
I have recently separated from my wife (will be filing for divorce soon). I have managed to get my names off all the joint utility bills and bank accounts and council tax. Have registered myself on the electoral list at my new address, the only thing i haven't done is changed the address on my bank account (as i have redirected my mail). My question is should i change the address on my bank account? as i would like to buy a property of my own once the divorce goes though and wouldn't like my credit scoring to go down just because of the change of address.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

I would think that it would look odd if you are on the electoral roll at your new address but your bank account is at the old address...it will likely create linked addresses on your credit report anyhow.

I would update to your new one.

Also, you need to file a notice of disassociation with all 3 CRAs once your joint accounts are closed. Otherwise the link to your ex OH will stay and their credit file will still impact yours.

Thanks for your reply, might be a silly question which are the 3 CRAs?

    Experian.
    Equifax.
Call credit. This can be checked for free via noddle.

My OH shows up as linked to me on 2 out of 3.

But you will need a credit report number.

If you don't want to reactivate your credit expert, you can get a £2 statutory report and reference that. Will take a few days to get though and I'm not sure if its allowed to be redirected by royal mail.
