Sorry but you've used the power you need to pay for it, lying and saying you've left will mean they will trace you, and they can add these tracing charges to your bill.
You'll have had lots of letters and reminders before it got to this stage, I think it's time to tell the truth, saying you can't afford the bill and agree to pay bit by bit, some people pay as little as 50p a week. (and probably get a meter for future consumption to stop you running up bills you can't pay)
As an aside, this is clearly not 'no spend required' you'd be better posting this in the appropriate section - you'll get more responses, that might help you more.Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.0 -
they know you live there they supply your gas??????????????????0

Don't worry this is a pre-warrant, what it means is your supplier needs to gain access to read your meter as they are legally obliged to read you meter once every 2 years by law, so don't be concerned they will come and take readings my advice in future if you can take your own readings and call them in this will prevent this! Although they will send meter readers out these are not always appointments so often people are out when they call hope this helps0

Also make a payment arrangement there are many options, ie pre-payment meter, that way you pay as you go and you don't need to worry about costs! Sorry misread about the arrears bit0

Are you on any type of means tested benefit such as Income Support.
If you are then British Gas (if thats your supplier) have a scheme called Energy Assisit where you pay a reduced tarrif for your gas even if you are in a prepayment meter , which I recommend as your arrears can be paid off gradually Call them on 0845 605 2535
I don't know if you will qualify but it's worth a try... Good luck0 -
It is always best to call them and offer to pay something, however small - burying your head in the sand often seems the easy thing to do but it relly is better to try to deal with it.
As mentioned above - these companies will try to help if they can by giving you a meter etc. they will want to keep you as a customer and should help get you back on a level footing by making it easier for you to keep on top of the bills.
Give them a call and tell them the truth - it is the best way. If they mention the fact that they have been told you no longer live there then just explain that it is not the case and that you would like to get things sorted.Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!0 -
thanx guys!!!!0
