Hi
I know there are alot of links for new members with what to do but every timeI logon here to check theres different messages!
I received a parking ticket at B&M Bargains in Preston on 1st December for overstaying by 30 minutes (limit is 90). I was in the shop that day & genuinely spent that long in there looking for homeware, its a huge store why should there be a time restriation!!
Anyway after initially reading on here I saw old posts saying to ignore it you dont need to pay them its not legal, but with it playing on my mind & the early charge was £50 to £90 and checking back on here it says to send an appeal??!! Have I left it too late??
I dont have the receipt from that day but I do have proof from an online statement I shopped at the store that day.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

I'm assuming you actually mean the con artists known as G24 rather than G4S ( who conned the government ) ?
If so then you need to read the Newbie stickie - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
FYI - G24 lie, con and have never done court."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
Thank you!
Yes I think it will be G24, I'm not sure I still have the ticket at home so what if I dont have the reference to put on the letter? Also on the standard template I used it advises the receipt is attached which I dont have and I dont want to send a screenshot of my online statement as I dont want them to know my identity.0 -
Don't send a receipt then, and send an appeal letter with the car reg and date on it if you have no reference, and say 'I am the registered keeper and am replying to your Notice recently sent, regarding car reg xxxxxx in xxxxxxx car park on or around xx/xx/13'. The important thing is that it does not imply who was driving and that it has an appeal point or two, as you will have seen in the examples. The aim is to get a POPLA code and win on 'the charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss' or 'G24 don't own the car park so have no authority...blah blah {usual POPLA wording}'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

again, it will be G24 , NOT the one you keep saying
as for your bank statement, you print it and redact your personal info, stating it can be produced unredacted at a later date if needs be
you can even download your bank statement, redact it , print it and send it in with your soft appeal using proof of posting which is free at the post office
its hardly rocket science , just think carefully about it
you even mention that you are replying as RK and that the statement is from the shopper / driver
also you should be complaining to the shop or landowner directly and getting it cancelled by them , saving you all this hassle
all the info you need to know is in the sticky thread called NEWBIES - READ THIS FIRST , about 4 down at the top of this forum0 -
I agree, 90 minutes is not a long time to shop and browse in B&M, they carry so much stock and it is not easy to find your way around. The problem is exacerbated if there are other shops or a restaurant in the arcade.
PPCs are in fact telling people they must not spend too long shopping, and that is totally against the interests of the shops and their shareholders. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Was the ticket you mention in the OP affixed to the vehicle? (A notice to driver - NtD).
Have you subsequently received a notification through the post? (A notice to keeper - NtK).
It's not clear from your posts what exactly is the situation. If you have ignored a NtD (generally the correct thing to do) and have received a NtK then you appeal as KEEPER (not mentioning or inferring who was the driver) to the PPC to either get the charge cancelled or hook a POPLA code.
The NEWBIES sticky thread has the advice you need.0
