Panasonic TV message and SKY +

Options
Don't know if this is on right Forum, please re-direct if I am. Just had installed Sky +, seems to working fine apart from two small issues. Can you help.
1. Have a Panasonic Quintrix TV, and now on all the programmes I get a message in the top left corner- 1 and under this EC1/RGB. Is there any way to remove this.
2. I have an ordinary TV aerial going into the sky box, but can't access the normal TV, ie if sky goes off how do I get 'old' TV signal ?

  • 1. There should be a display button on your remote control. Pressing this will have different display effects on your tv. You may have pressed it by accident thus its showing the message. Press it a few more times till there's nothing there.

    2. The TV Ariel should be still going into the back of the TV not the sky box afaik! This way you can still use terrestrial or by going through AV use the sky. (I may be wrong but I wouild have assumed this is the way)

    1. Press the "i" button on on Panasonic remote.

    2. Do you have an aerial lead directly between the rf out of the Sky+ box and the tv?

The aerial goes directly into the Sky + box, there is a scart lead between the two, funny thing is I have an upstairs TV, which I run using one of those Majic eye things for the Sky, this will show normal TV stations, this only has one lead going to it from the sky box, so I assume the TV aerial is coming into the sky and then being sent via the sky cable to this TV along with the sky signal? Make sense?

Outside aerial into RF IN on the Sky box.

RF Out 1 to the main TV aerial socket.
RF Out 2 to the 2nd TV.

To watch Sky, use the Scart, then use channels 1 - 5 on TV if you want to watch the analogue 1 - 5.

If it's a widescreen TV, then you really want to be watching the Sky box for channels 1 - 5, as channels are only widescreen via digital.

If it is a widescreen TV, then you need to set your Sky box up to 16:9 mode in the picture settings, the number of people with widescreen TVs and have the Sky / Freeview box set to 4:3 centre-cut-out is unbelievable.
If you completely sky your Sky box off at the 230v mains, then you won't get the analogue channels routing through to your main TV or 2nd TV.

Yes, the incoming signal from the aerial is sent along with Sky through the two RF outs.

To get rid of "EC1/RGB" press the i button twice rapidly.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

You will only get your normal (ie tuneable 1-5) channels on your tv if you connect your sky+ box to your tv via an aerial lead.
