Hi,
My name is Teddy. This morning I woke up to find that my mobile phone had been disconnected.
I phoned EE to find out why, Apparently my little Brother of 10 (i'm 24) has been making in app purchases on my Google play account through in app purchases.
This has come to a grand total of £1695.63.
As I am sure you can tell this is really frustrating and I have no money to pay this all off.
EE require me to pay at least £1000 of it of to get my phone back online.
I am more worried about the amount I owe rather than getting my phone back online.
I also am already in a Debt Management Plan with Step Change Debt Charity.
I need all the advise I can get, I am stuck, I really am and do not know what to do!

Call up StepChange and ask them what you should do. Worst case, the debt gets added into your DMP.0

1. Turn off in-app purchases
2. Report your little brother for fraudulent use of your phone
3. Give yourself a slap for being such a idiot for allowing/letting a 10 year old get hold of your phone with in-app purchases turned on with probably no PIN or password on it.0 -
I wish I could just not pay that £1600 and get my little brother to pay it! I should make him get a job!
its so stressful when your in so much debt and trying to help with keeping the family home together and your the only one with a job.
Do you think it may be worth doing a debt relief order instead?0 -

Ted, I think you need some constructive help.
What you should do is get over to the debt free wannabe thread and post over there with a list of all your outgoings and income. You will get proper help on what debts to prioritise, what your options are to cut down on non essential spending.
At the end of the day you are 24 years of age, and cannot be expected to shoulder the financial burden of a household.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

WelshRarebit has already given you good advice. You might want to consider taking it. If you claim unauthorised use you might get somewhere with EE in respect of a reduction of the charges.0
