Best way to comp?

Hi,in all honesty I cannot recall the exact origin of the link but I think was posted via another member or via MSE admin. When we had a discussion section update I asked that it be added as sticky here.
It's not so much in large prize order as such but they do tend to "float" to the top. It's more of what threads are getting "hit" on by MSE users,if that makes sense.
So it will show comps that are ending shortly but also the high value comps that gain prominence.
I hope that helps & good luck to you.;)
Wow ! Thanks. Brilliant links.
I'm still an Mse novice really and am struggling to find my best way to comp.
I've been doing closing date and can usually stay a couple of days ahead, but find I have to check back on the current days comps as there are often new ones added (ie twitter and facebook)
If I ever manage to catch up completely I'd like to try to comp as they are added but frequently find myself overwhelmed by the sheer amount.0 -
I've always entered 'most recently posted' too, the only time I've switched to 'end date' was over a few days of advents when I didn't have the time to keep on top of regular comps too. I did see the disadvantages of cutting the end date too fine, though, i.e. comps ending a day before end date, or end dates given by 'estimated number of followers' which can end before the expected date.
Roboform, or an equivalent, is such a timesaver, I would strongly recommend it if you don't have it, I don't think I could work without it now :-)0 -
I'm a bit of a mixer - I enter end date 2 days in advance & then when I've completed them I move on to the most recently posted so when I go to end date I'm really entering the ones I've missed - if that makes senseproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

I enter recent postings - usually around 4pm i work from current back to where i was the day before - i bookmark all that i want to enter and then enter any that close within a couple of days, then work my way through the rest - that way if something comes up i know i can log off and come back to it later/next day
For anyone that doesn't know on firefox you can bookmark to a folder straight from the main comps page by click your right button on your mouse and adding to bookmark folder, thus saving time

I totally fail at having a system, even after years of comping! I spend all the month starting at the first and working my way through, but I alway have to skip to the last day of the month to get them all done, so I end up missing loads, will have to give the popularity one a try!2020 wins: Petsafe Smart Feeder, Family ticket to Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live, Iconic Mascara, Maleficent DVD, Hemline Thimble Desk Organiser, Product of the Year Goody Bag, Inside Soap £50, Florette Salad, Midway DVD, Red Dwarf Bluray, Sponsor a Swan, Cosmo Subscription, Lavendar Plants, Core Balance Dome Balance Trainer, Yoga Fitness Mat, TV Choice £200

I've been messing about on MSE for a whole year now and always end dated, on and off. This week I have attempted to catch up and clear the whole lot in one go and I'm doing really well with that.
Them, next week when I'm back I work I'll only do newly listed from the front page and work through to where I left off the evening before, catching up with anything I've missed on the weekend using end by date.
This is just a trial, I may give up by Feb lol!
If you don't already when you are working through the newly listed ones change the forum display options from the default "last post time" to "thread start time" and all the bumped posts will return to their proper place giving far fewer posts to go through.0 -
Hi,
I've been using Prize finder for a number of years and I've found recently it isn't quite as good as it used to be. I think they are after you paying for access to short term comps, which I won't do. There seems fewer comps on than they used to have and some of the answers are wrong.
Has anybody got any other sites they use that may be better?

Yep, and you're on it now!
I am pretty certain that almost every comp out there is listed on here, certainly any one worth entering anyway! I don't see the need to look elsewhere when it's all here and so easy to use xx0 -
Personally I would say to enter comps as posted but give the posts a few minutes before you enter so any dupes are posted.
In the end it is a personal choice though :-)
I tend to be comping as posted but then mix them up via this to catch any biggies that are missed.
Thank you for this link - since you posted it, I have not missed any of the biggies! Still not won anything this year ...... yet!!!2019 Prize Total - £0/0 Prizes 2018 Prize Total - £100/1 Prize 2017 Prize Total - £250/2 Prizes

I always do it by the most recently posted, try to log in and do them every day back to where I was. If i miss a day or 2 then I play catch up when I have a few hours!
Off on honeymoon for 2 weeks in May, that's going to be a lot of catching up on comp entires/checking emails when I return methinks....0
