Hope someone can help here,please.
My son cannot seem to browse the net on his ipad for prolonged periods as he often gets kicked out and has to reconnect.
Has been mentioned that there may be a possible ip address conflict?but don't know if this is the actual issue
I believe the unit has upgraded to ios7 if that helps.
Can anyone help.
Thanks as usual

Where have you seen this message? Is it on the iPad or on a different machine.
It is possible there is an IP address conflict but its unusual for it to keep happening.
The first thing I would do is reboot the router and anything else on the network - any tablets or lap tops that hibernate/sleep and don't regularly get switched off.0 -
son has a new ipad air.....it has a habit of 'kicking him out'...then yesterday it did it and the screen went completely grey and stripy and it now appears to be dead!......will watch to see what replies you get....and will be returning ours on Wednesday so will let you know what Apple say

How is he connecting to the internet? Wifi? 3G?
How is he browsing the internet?
Does the problem only occur on certain websites?
How is the wireless network configured?1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
Have you got Virgin Media internet? And what exactly is happening?
Is the iPad staying connected to wifi, but suddenly pages don't load? I've had that happen a few times (and not just with iPads - with anything connected to the internet). When you turn things off and on again they start working for a few min, but then stop working again.
I never got a clear answer from Virgin Media as to what was happening, but when I finally got to speak to someone who wasn't just reading from a script I was told to rename the wireless network, that worked fine, and it's still working quite a while later.0 -

Connecting by wifi through a Sky BB router and is using the Safari browser on his ipad.
Problem seems quite random as my wife was browsing holiday comparison sites earlier on it and it happened then too.
Not sure how wireless is configured-how do I check and I'll report back, please?
Also, just wanted to mention that on my PC that the routers connected too I have seen the ip address conflict error message appear in the task tray.
Thanks for the ongoing help:j0 -

With Sky and when it happens it returns him to his desktop page but he can reconnect again until it kicks him out again:j0 -
Oh I see. With Sky and when it happens it returns him to his desktop page but he can reconnect again until it kicks him out again
It's not disconnecting from the internet or from wifi. Safari is crashing. It does that on iPad Airs, it's running out of memory. Make sure all other apps are closed. The problem is worse on particular websites.
That's fixed in the next beta version of iOS, or so I have read. iOS 7.1, no idea when that will be released. I've read March.0 -
need to check that the ipad and the pc are using DHCP to automatically give the IP Address - if one these has a fixed address assigned, that is in the range of the automatically assigned range then this may be what is kicking the other device off..
My BT router starts giving ip address from 192.168.1.64 and above - and my fixed addresses media server \ Pi's & gaming consoles are set fixed to 100 and above, so never any risk of using same codes...
Is the router set to just 2.4ghz or is 5ghz enable too? Apple devices do work on the 5ghz, but range isn't always as good - so that might be loosing connection...0 -

There could be other devices (Smart TV, printer, etc) which would cause it. If there are devices which require fixed IP addresses, it's worth putting them at the top of the range. My 3 additional routers that I use as wifi extenders are set at .244 , .246 & .248 so I can get a couple of hundred devices connected automatically before there's even a risk of a conflict.
Also, as you say, stick to 2.4ghz with Apple.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
