You are right Dedicated DFW. I should keep a record each time I pay a bit off as I was struggling to remember how much I had paid yesterday and it took me a while to find it all on statements. Good tip:T
Kind regards

We'll I'm pleased to say that on Friday 31st I shall be paying off another £100 after payday. It's only a drop in the ocean but better than nowt!
Had an expensive shopping week and managed to spend £155!!!!
We needed a lot of staples and household stuff as we were low on everything but it will mean next weeks will be reduced. I have decided to do an online shop so I can control it more.
Somehow I have to shave £100 off our projected budget for next month to finish up even and not overdrawn at the end of the month.
Can't see myself making any extras this month either as I have nothing to eBay.
Not to worry. I'm off to see what I can do with the shopping budget.
Kind regards

Hi SD,
£100 is a fab overpayment to be making :T
I've also overspent on the food budget this month - some of that was down to buying household items that were needed from the food budget and at the cheapest price and some was the same as whats happened with you - running out of staples that needed replacing - this week alone for example i needed tinfoil, cling film - not used in years but needed it for a recipe and baking paper - these will last a good while and although bought for a good price re. quality and size it is not cheap.
Next month i aim to keep the food spends down by really focusing on tackling the freezer and eating out of that and stores
I too am struggling to find stuff to sell on the bay of e but am finally getting the house more streamlined and in better order so that is encouraging me
Good luck with your next shopping list

Thanks DedicatedDFW glad to know I'm not the only one on the grocery overspend list!
I have fed my mortgage ...
£100:T:T
Really pleased we can pay anything off this month. Tried to do an online shop but never actually got round to finishing it so I'm off to do the weekly shop soon. I am hoping to bring it in under budget. Even if I do, it won't come off the mortgage as I have a predicted overdraft of about £100 at the end of the month on the accounts. I am trying to shave spends off areas like food so that I can avoid the overdraft at the end of feb. If I can save 20/30£ a week I will make it I think.
I'm just finishing off a beautiful cushion that I'm hoping to sell so that will help.
Kind regards

Well now. The shopping came in under budget but I then bought a little something that swallowed it up! I know it was frivolous but I couldn't resist. I bought the most beautifully snuggly blanket that is a double size and covers both me and hubby on the sofa. We have a draft that whistles down the stairs and this is a terrifically effective way of warding off the chills. I am currently tucked up in bed but my 15 year old son is now snuggled under it watching tv and before he came up he said it was just about his most favourite thing in the house!
I am pleased to say however that the accounts were a little out and we had budgeted for 2 items that are not needed. This means we are predicted a £2 credit at the end of the month instead of an overdraft! Not a lot to go on I know, so I have come up with another plan. I am going to use up everything I have in the cupboards instead of going for a big shop this week. That should be fun! Do custard and hotdog sausages go together? I have enough for a week of good meals and a week of weird meals. If I spread this out over two weeks and intersperse decent meals with weird meals then maybe no one will notice! Ha ha. :rotfl:
Well I'll let you know how it goes. It may even be good for my own diet!
Kind regards
