DFS( Buying a sofa)

I wonder if anybody could help me. I bought a sofa just before new year from DFS, approximately 4 or five days later I phoned the DFS Department where I bought the sofa and stated I wanted to choose the same sofa but in a different fabric(£200 cheaper). I was told DFS allows three days to cancel. If after three days the order has not been cancelled they will not be able to change the order as it will be with the factory. I stated I could not see the reason why I could not change the fabric on the sofa as the delivery date was in 11 weeks time (march 2014). DFS would not move on the situation.
Could anybody tell me if this is a breach of my statutory rights?

You ordered the sofa, three days passed and they've sent the job onto the factory.
The following day, or perhaps the day after you've called to change the order, against the terms agree'd at the point of order.
I don't see where DFS is in the wrong here?0 -

They don't even have to give you 3 days to change the order if they don't want to. If you order in store then you have no statutory rights to cancel or change the contract. The contract gave you 3 days to make amendments so that's the right you had.0 -

You walked into the store under your own free will, instructed a sales person to order you a sofa of your choosing and signed a contract. At this point the salesman would have "waterproofed" the order confirming everything to you and got you to sign it. This order was then sent to a factory which could have started to work on your order straight away, unfortunately you can't get out of it- it's a contract. It is you that is trying to breach the contract- not DFS.0
