not really know to be honest with you , just happened to look at my noddle credit report ,which I do rarely at best and saw that money saving expert had done a search on my file . Would like to know why they thought that appropriate?

yeah weird, unless you did a comparison for insurance using their search and they do a search on your file and pass the file to all the insurance companies rather than letting each individual insurance company do a search.

But that's just speculation based on your assertion being true. I have never had a comparison site do a check on me,

I have the same search on my file from 2012 around the time I used MSE to find new house insurance. Bet that's what it is.

I'm certainly not saying that I haven't used MSE as a comparison site in the past because I have. Which is why ,no doubt that they have my details on file , but I certainly haven't done this for a long time . Well before the 3/10/13 that they searched my account on.
Sort of don't care because it doesn't make a lot of difference really , but on the other hand I feel that anybody doing a search on my credit files should be made to ask first, because its got nothing to do with them. If its just a digging exercise.

Im sure it would be mentioned within the T&Cs regarding the use of credit reference agencies.

  • Soft search for credit cards?
  • I did a comparison for energy prices and have the same on file for that time.
