Hi - i have several files i want to burn in the ISO file format. The trouble is i want to keep the files as ISO's so i can mount them using daemon tools to install them. The programs i have tried burn the files ok but burn the expanded files, ie. the files contained within the ISO not the ISO itself - can anyone help...?

Hi there, have you tried just burning it as a standard data disk, shouldn't decompress then.0 -
Isn't that the opposite of what he wants? ImgBurn would burn the image contained in the iso to disk - he wants the iso file itself on the disk, not what is inside the iso.0 -
Tried imageburn and yes it does burn the files within the iso. What i need to do is just burn the actual iso file without decompressing it. I want to then use daemon tools to mount the iso file i have burned to dvd.....0

any burning program including imgburn can do this, if you are burning as a disc image, then you are choosing the wrong option, it's just a data file same as any other. It may be that you have installed an explorer add-in that automatically expands the iso visually in explorer?
imgburn - write files/folders to disc is the option you want not write image file to disc!!

Create image file from files/folders0

if that's what they are trying to achieve (far from clear from post 1), a zip file would be more appropriate.!!

Possibly the d'OP has associated .iso images with WinRar or some such.
So then he opens them with the program and then burns the files within...and then wonders why he doesn't have an image anymore.
Otherwise he could just copy the existing image(why I don't know) or use ImgBurn's Create Image File from Files/Folders..0
