I have a kindle fire HD....so wish I hadn't as its rubbish
Tried plugging it into my laptop tonight which is running windows 7 premium
Keep getting drivers are not installed correctly for this device
looked in the device manager and it is listed under portable device as kindle but it has a yellow triangle next to it
tried everything I can think of including update driver but keep getting the same error
even tried update windows with the kindle connected
H E L P please...how the hell can I connect this to my laptop

This can be tricky to solve, but you're in the right place. But before we go digging - what are you trying to do? Copy stuff from the PC onto the Kindle or vice versa?
If so, let's try the easiest thing first. Goto 'Computer' where you will see all the drives - does the Kindle maybe appear there and allow you to copy things?
That was the easy part, it may still have worked even though it was complaining.
In device manager where you were describing I think there's an option to uninstall. Keep the Kindle away from the PC. Uninstall. Plug the Kindle in, and hopefully Windows will go through the setup process again, and might succeed this time...0
