But the scenario under discussion was an increase in resistance, so you are saying that decreases the voltage? When I turn down the heat on my hob a notch I thought I was increasing resistance but I'm pretty sure the voltage stays around 230-240 volts!I've managed 30 years of a successful career without keyboard know-it-alls thanks. Power (inW)= VxA. If W is constant and V decreases then A increases.... :eek:0

In practice if a connector is unable to handle the load of the appliance/fitting etc, then the effective power of that appliance goes up
In the extreme a single strand in contact within a switch sees a 100wat load as 10kw, hence the increase in ampage and HEAT:eek::eek:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
