Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, 10inch, 16gb, WiFi, Z2560 processor, £229,
Apple iPad, 3rd gen. WiFi, 16gb, 9.7inch, A5X processor, £279
These are top of my list unless you can recommend better?
Will be used for normal home stuff, pics, web browsing, emails etc.
Currently use older Macbook, no experience with PCs, looking for an affordable, portable replacement.

If you don't like change and don't mind paying extra for stuff just because it's familiar: Apple.
If you don't mind trying something different and just want the best value: Samsung.0 -
I have an iphone so was drawn to ipad, but as my first foray into tablets didn't want to spend that much.
I got a Samsung Galaxy tab 2 for £100 at Tesco. Its really good, doing everything I need - email, browsing, shopping, apps, social media management.
I'd recommend thinking about how you will use it - I got the 7 inch as I would hold it a lot (slouching on the sofa). A 10 inch would be too heavy, but fine if youre at a desk/table. I am abit feeble tho - you may be stronger!Formerly- Greenmoneysaver

Well I didn't go for either in the end, got a five month old iPad 4 in mint condition for £280.
Well chuffed and love it!0
