You haven't polished the glass then.
Try some glass polish, AG glass polish or Halfords Intensive glass cutter, with both products use just a pea size amount per side window, apply to the interior and exterior, leave a few mins until it dries and hazes, then using a clean cloth wipe the residue away, I have just done this to my GF's 2001 Fiesta, even she has noticed she can actually see the roads now, reduced glare and greater water repellancy, I didn't change the wiper blades but did clean the rubbers with liquid glass cleaner ( oh and polished the headlight lenses too) .

This article gives some good advice on the topic. NB especially what is said about polarised lenses.

Has anyone suggested cleaning the INSIDE of the windscreen thoroughly, giving it a good degrease with an alcohol based cleaner, because I did this just before Christmas on our two cars and it made a big difference. Neither of us smoke, but the muck which came off was staggering.
No more glazed screeens, everything is nice and bright again.
We also used the same approach on the outside.0 -
Vertical scratches on a windscreen? Are you certain they are on the outside?
A friend of ours blamed Ford for vertical scratches on the inside of her windscreen, until it was asked if 1. She wore any rings on her fingers and 2. If she ever cleaned the inside of the screen with a cloth.
The answer to both was yes. The scratches weren't perfectly vertical but had a slight bend top and bottom, like they had been done (over time) by a hand moving up and down the screen.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

Some of that muck may be caused by plastics on the dashboard degrading under light & heat1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Regarding scratches on the outside of the windscreen, I have had good luck with a water repellent. Really clean the screen, if possible use the glass cutter, then put the water repellent stuff on.0

Insides of windows, I have found a microfibre cloth very good. A small spray of glass cleaner, a good rub with the cloth, and it's brilliantly clean, with no smears. Halfords sell them for megabucks, but the best offer I saw was in Tesco, three for a tenner. Same material.
There's even an article here that shows how they work.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
