Office returns policy = no refunds

I bought a pair of leather boots from Office as a gift. After giving them to the recipiant I was told they do not fit as they do not fit around her calves.

After returning them after Christmas, 30 days later, I was told they only exchange or give a gift voucher for the value.

Do I not have any rights to return these as I am not just changing my mind, they do not fit at all?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Dan

  • They are fit for purpose, so in effect it is a change of mind return. You have no rights beyond their advertised policy.

Buying wrong size is effectively changing your mind. Your only rights to return goods to a shop is if they are faulty or do not conform to contract.

However, as the OP has mentioned '30 days later', I imagine they are out of the returns window for the DSRs.

If for any reason you’re unsure about your full price item and looking to return, we’re happy to offer a refund, exchange or gift card on unworn items. All items must be returned in their original condition and with valid proof of purchase. You will have 28 days from the purchase date to return your item to any of our stores, excluding concessions. Please note we do not offer refunds or exchanges on sale items purchased in store.

Since their policy is 28 days, you're lucky they even offered an exchange or gift voucher.

Especially as they have been worn as well.
  • Just to update....

I emailed customer service and they said they would refund the payment to my card and accept refund up until 31st Jan. So I have returned them.

    Thanks for the replies guys!
