in Credit cards
Hi,
Ive had a Capital One credit card for 7 months now and have paid it off in full every month except this month where ive left a little on to pay during the month.
I am going away in 2 months and require a hire car. The credit card wont cover the deposit needed on a credit card. Does anyone know how to increase my limit. Ive never missed a payment and pay by Direct Debit.
Kind Regards
Craig

Phone them and ask them if they can increase your limit? Apart from that you can just wait until they increase it automatically.0

I paid in full every month too. It took Capital One a year and a half to increase my limit. The increase went from £200 to £1000. When I closed another credit card a year and a half later, Cap One increased it again to £1800.0

Cap 1 generally increase my limit once a year, last time it went from £1800 to £2400, but originally it took a few years for them to increase it from the initial limit. It may be worth calling them if you've been in good standing with them."Can't you have your ***** cut off ?" "It's not as simple as that, Nigel"

I agree - mention what you want to use the increase for.
Please bear in mind though they will put a hold on your card for a substantial amount for a number of days so you need an alternative source of payment as well in case.0 -
capitalone is one of the few that have no option for requesting a credit limit increase online, as above even if you ask them via message or phone they will almost guaranteed to say no, capitalone give increases when they decide you are worthy of one
it took me 10 years, with a starting limit of £200 to get it up to its current limit of £2500, mines a classic with 1% cash back on everything, and for 2 years now it has always been paid in full0
