divorce advice re splitting house costs

Options
Hi,

I split from my husband in 2013, moving out in May to my own place (best decision!). As the New Year arrives I need some advice regarding what I may or may not be entitled to.
I met my ex in 2005, we moved in together in 2007 into a house he bought as he had a previous property and he said to me he thought it was risky putting me on the mortgage as I was temping (it quickly became more permanent) & looking to start a Masters at uni. We married in 2011...(still didn't put me on the mortgage) but all the time I paid equal share into a joint account to cover the mortgage & bills.

We moved in 2012 into rented accommodation due to relocation of jobs yet both carried on paying equally each month. We rented out the old house and despite a few months early 2013 it has been occupied since.

Am I entitled to anything from the property even though I have never been named on the mortgage but have contributed to it equally between 2007-2012?

Thanks

The house could become part of the pot that will include other financials such as pensions that will be divided as part of the financial divorce settlement

The challenge may be that you had a short marriage and there are cases where, after a short marriage, both parties are returned to the position they were in before the marriage. However you did live together before marriage so this may change things

    Do you have children together?

Might we worth having a look over at the WikiDivorce site - a lot of useful information there
