ADVICE PLEASE regarding DLA and tax

Options
Hi, I thought I already posted this but doesn't seem to be showing.

Ok my son had been awarded HRC and LRM. The award started as from the 30th Oct 2013, I found out last week.

So I called the working tax credit but I did not call child tax credit as I forgot.

My questions is, are the CTC and WTC the same office, will one pass the information onto the other or do I have to inform both?

also, does either my WTC or CTC go up due to my son's award? if so does anyone know how much by?

Is there anything else I should do? or contact?

I'd be really grateful for some advice please. :) Thank you
The day I had my Beautiful son is the day everything came together for me. For someone so small he done so much and made me complete.

    DLA is not taxable.

So I don't think it will affect your tax credit stuff, since it isn't taxable... But I don't know, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along to help out.

Good to hear your son has got DLA after all this time. You will have a nice back payment to use for your son's benefit. :)

    Best wishes from Liverpool.

Edit - guess it isn't that long, but even a few months mounts up. Rolling eyes at my stupidity, I think I read the year wrong - brain fog!
  • Working Tax Credits and Child Tax Credits are dealt with at the same time so you only have to make one phone call to Tax Credits.

Because of the DLA high rate care you will get the disabled child premium and the severe disability premium on the Child Tax Credits (my son gets high rate care), so it will go up by quite a lot and will be backdated to the date of the award.

The DLA dept will tell Tax Credits about the award which will tie in with your
    phone call.

The disabled child element is £3015 per year and the severely disabled child element is an additional £1220 per year (April to April)
